Saturn

Saturn is the sixth planet of the Solar System and the second largest after Jupiter. It is known primarily for its iconic ring system, making it one of the most impressive objects in the sky. The rings are composed of ice particles and rock fragments orbiting the planet in several distinctly separated bands.

Saturn is a gas giant, and its atmosphere is composed primarily of hydrogen and helium. Despite its size, it has a very low density – it is the only planet in the Solar System that would float in water.

It has over 140 known moons; the largest, Titan, is bigger than the planet Mercury and possesses a dense atmosphere. Observing Saturn is an experience, whether visually through a telescope or via astrophotography – the rings are visible even at low magnification.

Acquisition

Although Saturn is smaller compared to Jupiter, it stands out thanks to its rings, which are immediately observable—much like Jupiter's moons are.
